About this event

On January 19, Sheffield Neighborhood Association (SNA) is hosting our rescheduled conversation with our 018 & 019 Districts of the Chicago Police Department. We invite you to attend the meeting to share with us and the Department what's on your mind, ask any questions you would like answered, share your concerns, etc. This is a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to have an open dialogue with those who are charged with serving and protecting our neighborhood. This includes, but is not limited to, discussing the recent uptick in violent crime in our community and what we can do to make our streets safer.

While the evening is called Coffee with a Cop, we will not be serving coffee in light of current Covid-19 guidelines. We also are limiting the size of the meetings (100 ppl) for two reasons:

  1. Promote a true back and forth discussion with members of the 018 & 019 Districts
  2. Make certain we are providing a safe and respectful place to gather in light of our current Covid-19 environment.

SNA is thankful to Lakeshore Sport & Fitness as they have a space where this can be accomplished. The meeting will be hosted just outside their front door where the Club has built, under the overhang in the parking lot, heated and wind-blocked studios which are all connected. The heaters will be on full blast but please dress appropriately. This will allow everyone to feel safe, warm and provide an atmosphere to discuss the issues at hand.

To make certain as many neighbors can attend the meetings as possible, we ask only one member per household attend one of the meetings. If neighborhood interest exceeds the capacity of the two gatherings, we will host more shortly thereafter. We want to make certain everyone has the opportunity to talk one-on-one with our local police department.

Please register for only one of the dates. Only those who have registered will be allowed to enter. All current Covid-19 restrictions will be in place, so please...

  • Bring your state issued ID
  • Wear a mask (surgical-grade recommended)
  • Must be fully vaccinated and bring proof of full Covid-19 vaccination

To be considered fully vaccinated, you must be:

  • 2 weeks after your second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine

If you don’t meet these three requirements, regardless of your age, you are NOT fully vaccinated. If you do not bring proof of vaccination, you will not be allowed to enter the meeting.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us, info@sheffieldneighborhood.org.

Happy New Year!
